In the history of Indian cricket, there are names of many great and important stars who have contributed a lot in making this game thrilling through their cricket game, which includes Indian cricketers from Kapil Dev to Rohit Sharma. Similarly, the name of a rising star of cricket is Shubman Gill who is eager to spread his shine in the world of cricket in the current Emmy.





The tree of cricket planted by cricketers like Vishan Singh Vedi, Lala Amar Nath, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Kirmani, etc. is now slowly moving on the path of becoming a banyan tree. The rising star of Indian cricket, Shubhman Gill was born on 8 September 1999 to Lakhwinder Singh Gill, a farmer from Punjab.





The Gill family has family land and farms in Fazilka tehsil of Punjab province. It was here that Shubhman Gill’s father Lakhwinder Singh used to do farming work. Lakhwinder Singh Gill says that at the age of 3, Shubman started showing interest in playing cricket.





He had no interest in any other toy except a cricket bat and ball. Seeing Shubhman Gill’s habit of playing cricket, his father Lakhwinder Singh Gill used to ask the men working in his fields to throw the ball for Shubhman Gill so that Shubhman could play cricket.





Seeing his son’s passion for playing cricket, Lakhwinder Singh started thinking of making him a professional cricketer, so to fulfill this decision, Lakhwinder Singh Gill decided to settle in Mohali, Punjab with his family.





Where (PCA) arranged cricket coaching for Shubhman Gill while living in a rented house near the Punjab Cricket Association. This is how Shubhman Gill’s cricket practice started. Shubhman Gill started learning cricket with full enthusiasm and passion.





Within a few years, its encouraging results started appearing. No one in Shubman Gill’s family had any connection with playing cricket. Shubman Gill’s grandfather Didar Singh Gill was a good player of the Kabaddi game in his time and there was a tradition of wrestling in the Gill family.





Therefore, Didar Singh wanted to make his son Lakhwinder a wrestler, but due to Lakhwinder’s thigh bone being broken in an accident, his dream of becoming a wrestler was also shattered. Lakhwinder Singh had said during an interview that at the age when children are attracted towards other toys, Shubman Gill used to ask for a cricket bat and ball.





At the age of just 3 years, Shubhman Gill used to watch cricket matches on television while sitting with his father, which shows his passion for cricket. At the age of 3, Lakhwinder Singh Gill gave him a cricket ball and bat in response to Shubhman Gill’s insistence.





After cricket training, Shubman Gill started playing for Punjab in first-class cricket in the year 2016-17. Shubman Gill’s professional cricket started with the 2017 Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy matches in November 2017. In Under 19, Shubman Gill had scored a double century while playing cricket for Vijay Merchant Trophy.





Seeing the excellent performance of Shubhman Gill, BCCI declared Shubhman Gill as the West Junior Cricketer. Playing for the India Under-19 team against the England cricket team, Shubman Gill contributed 147 runs in the ODI match.





Shubman Gill was given the Man of the Match award for this match series. Shubman Gill has been fond of playing cricket since childhood.




Seeing India’s star batsman playing cricket, Shubman Gill also started dreaming of becoming a cricketer and kept talking about cricket all the time.




He used to practice for many hours in the field with bat and ball. Seeing this, Lakhwinder Singh came to Mohali with his family. At the age of 8, Lakhwinder Singh Gill got his son Shubhman Gill admitted to a cricket institute in Mohali so that Shubhman Gill could get good training in cricket.

Due to his good understanding and skill in cricket, he got a place in Punjab’s Ranji cricket team at the age of just 18.

Seeing Shubman Gill’s passion for cricket, his parents took him from Fazilka to Mohali and started living in a rented house near the IS Bindra Cricket Stadium of the Punjab Cricket Association so that Shubman Gill would not face any problems in cricket practice.





At the age of just 11, Shubhman Gill was selected in cricket at the district level in the under-16 age group. In the first series, Shubman Gill scored 330 runs in 5 matches, which became a record.





Shubhman Gill had scored more than 200 runs in 16 years of age group Punjab state-level cricket for Vijay Merchant Trophy in the year 2014.





Shubman Gill had scored 351 runs in the 16-year age group for the ML Markan Trophy at the district-level event organized by Punjab Cricket Association and in partnership with Nirmal Singh, set a world record of 586 runs.





Shubman Gill was awarded the MA Chidambaram Trophy for the under-16 age group for the year 2013–14 by the Indian Cricket Board. In the year 2017, Shubman Gill made his debut in the List A cricket team against the Vidarbha cricket team.





In the year 2017, Shubman Gill was selected in the Indian cricket team for the age group of 19 years. He played his first cricket match against the England cricket team for the ODI series and received the Man of the Series award by scoring 351 runs in the entire series.





In the year 2018, Shubman Gill was made the vice-captain for the World Cup in the 19 years age group. In the 2018 IPL (Indian Premier League) auction, Shubman was signed by KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) for Rs 1.8 crore.
