Atal Ji’s political journey began in 1939 when he got a chance to join the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) as a volunteer. Atal Ji was very impressed with Babasaheb Apte. He took training in RSS from 1940-44. Atal ji was politically associated with the Arya Kumar Sabha. Atal ji was considered the youth power of Arya Samaj. In 1944, Atal Ji also held the post of General Secretary of Arya Samaj. In 1947, Atal Ji completely devoted his valuable time as an active worker of RSS. In the midst of the partition of India, there was an interruption in Atal Ji’s law studies, as a result of which his law studies remained incomplete.




Atal Bihari Vajpayee was sent to Uttar Pradesh as a campaigner of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh, where he worked with Deendayal Upadhyay for several magazines, and newspapers, including Rashtra Dharma (Hindi Monthly), Hindi Weekly (Panchjanya), Dainik Names of newspapers like Swadesh, Veer Arjun are included. When Morarji Desai’s government was elected in 1977, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was made the foreign minister because of his strong and clear litigant image, which Vajpayee ji discharged very efficiently. When India-Pakistan relations were at a low level since the 1971 war, Vajpayee ji traveled to Pakistan to make it normal again, when the Janata Party ideologically attacked the RSS, Vajpayee ji resigned his ministerial post in 1979.
